TobyMac, Thousand Foot Krutch, and Barlow Girl

I had such a blast at the Portable Sounds tour last night!!!!! A group from church went, everyone had a great time. A bunch of us choose to stand, we were not more than 5 feet from the stage. And, Yes, we stood/head banged/jumped/screamed ect. through the whole thing. All the pictures I took came out blurry so I have none to post...sorry.

TFK came out first, IMHO they really rocked the place! Trevor and co. put out so much energy and gave all the praise to God. All three of the bands gave a small devotional during their set. That was so great. Highlights were Move, Rawkfist! Breath You In, Absolute.

Barlow Girl came out next. They put on a great show but with the exception of Lauren's devo they came across to "power to girls" which in moderation is great but BG just seems to take it a little to far. But that's just my take. Highlights were Average Girl, Never Alone, I believe in Love, A Million Voices, and My God's Enough.

Now...for TOBYMAC!!!! They just gave everything on that set. Toby and the 3 others who sing with him were phenomonal. Toby really engaged the crowd with all of the songs, his people break danced all over the stage. His guitarist is also his horn player, whenever he would play horn Toby would cover his ears and pretend not to like it. It added so much to the music. His one female singer, she can SING! She was first one out and started singing when the set began. The devotional was Matt 16:26 "For what is a man profited if he gain the world but lose his soul" Which he proceeded to incorporate into the song "Lose my Soul" He also, before singing Gone spoke out and said "look ladies out in the audience, God loves you and if your guy is not treating you right then he don't deserve you and should be kicked out to the curb NOW!" His set was composed of Love is in the house, I'm for you, Made to Love, Whoopsi Daisy! Gone, Lose my Soul, the slam, Get this party started, and a few others that I recognize but can't place title. Oh...and did I mention he ended with JESUS FREAK???!!? The last song of the night and the best he played. I am proud to be a Jesus Freak.

Sounds like you had a wonderful time! I like TobyMac too...not fond of Barlowe Girl, and haven't heard of TFK, but I'm going to see what I can find to listen to today. I'm glad to hear you are SO grounded in your faith and that you are proud to be a Jesus Freak. It takes someone with a lot of confidence in their faith to be able to admit that.
